I was playing with a notion, and maybe you guys can help me out with this one. Now I know which vehicles had seat belts in the doors, but beyond that, would civic hatch doors fit on a crx? Of the same year, or similar year, 90-91? And do they look the same if they do match? I dont imagine they would because of the slant that the crx doors have toward the back of the car. Basically, I have noticed some rust along the bottom of my door and rather than fixing it, I Was considering just replacing the damn thing, it has a couple dents in it anyway, and it would be much easier to find a HB door than a CRX... Ive already pulled off my side skirts and killed what little rust I found there, all shiny white now :), painting with cans really isnt hard, and gave me great results.

The doors to match up I did the same thing before painting my car. you just have to paint them and attach the crx side skirts and your good to go. I used an 89 dx door on my 89 crx si...am not sure if the body style changed after 89 or not..but 88 and 89 do match up on my car...if yours is 90 or 91 Im sure it would match with a 90 or 91 dx or hf

No the doors will not interchange. You could take off the window frame and swap them, and then it would fit, but if your going though that much trouble of cutting and welding you should just fix the rust on the ones you have.

Mines 91, and why would the guys swap work above and not mine, were they different between HB and CRX in the 90-91 years? Oh and Viper, if your saying you took DX crx doors and put them on an SI, that is not what Im asking, I am looking to take hatchback door and put them on CRX.

maybe it will work. you cant know unless you keep talking to that guy up there and see what has to be done or maybe its just 4 bolts and a door harness pin. i just know that some doors have seatbelts on them and some have them behind the door. thats the only differance i know of.

I took mine of a dx hatchback..I will say the Silent Chamber seems to know his stuff and I just bought my first honda back in Nov of last year, so in your case Frodo, I may be wrong...sorry if I am but my swap worked..I'll get my gf's camera and take a few pics I get nothing but compliments on the look of my car and I would go as far as to say not even the most trained eye could see what I've done to my doors. the smartest thing you can do is do a side by side comparison before swapping out the door and make sure the lines match up.

Well, I would not go against TSC's word, if not for someone who said they have done it, and on a vehicle that is not all that different from mine, but may be enough to make it completely undoable. Ill do a little more searching and take a look at part numbers and such.

Pull up next to a hatch, look at the rooflines, the crx is more sloped tward the back. Viper, when you say hatch back, which of these are you refering to?

I just left a message with my buddy brian....he got the doors off the dx for me...if you hadn't shown me that pic I would have never questioned the swap...your right though..the rear door frame obviously is slanted downward....and the rear of the dx door is perfectly straight vertically..like I said tsc I've seen plenty of your posts I wouldn't argue...I will find out whats up from my buddy and get back...sorry in advance if I'm wrong

I got the door from my buddy who's uncle owns a scrapyard...he told me it was a civic crx dx..sorry frodo! me bad..he origionally told me it was a civic dx...dunno how anyone could mistake the two cars but alas I was wrong

That was the only thing I noticed and said it right in my first post, the rear lines do look slanted back much more. Thanks for the help guys, but I managed to find a 90 CRX DX anyway :P. Its probably not going to be too much better as its sitting in a swamp of a junkyard, but Ill give it a shot, going from black to white is going to be interesting though. Ill probably just leave the door as is, you cant see the rust at all from the outside, and its only at the seam at the bottom of the door, from water collecting under there when it rained. Thanks TSC.
