to much wattage drawn

Hi, I just put in an aftermarket radio, and a new sub woofer/amp in my 96 grand am se. The amp pulls at max 200w. I'm just wondering, is this so much that I need a second battery to be installed? I seem to be having some intermittent spurts, where the car doesnt accelerate properly. I have checked the plugs, wires, coil packs, or ICM yet because it's very intermittently, and one of the coil packs have been replaced, as well as all the spark plugs. Or could one of the injectors be slightly clogged?

Few amps actually peak out thier ratings.
A second battery would not help, but a bigger alternator, like the 120amp ones, would help with the excess power draw.
As far intermittent spurts, you'll hav to be more specific than that.

You may want to install a 1 farad capacitor just before the amp. This will eliminate the power drain and the subs will bump with full power without draining the battery.

YA GTP Dad is right.
That 1 farad capacitor would work,
and is probly cheaper than a new 120amp alternator.
