Hey guys, here's a Cobra that I just finished. Definitely one of the coolest Ford powered vehicles of it's time! The 427 was a screamer... gonna build me one someday... for now, it's only a pencil color dream...

now that's a cool looking drawing. one of the best i've seen being posted here lately, but i don't think this will be a very comfortable car for any passengers. the seat looks twisted. apart from that, well, no further comments.

Beautiful rendering! The reflections and tire treads look incredibly detailed.

Wow! Excellent. I love it. Proportions are great and the detail is awesome. Maybe one suggestion though. The car looks chrome, maybe on future drawings add a little bit more variations of darker blues?

Very nice drawing. The perspective and ellipses are right on. I have been doing automotive drawings in colored pencil for about 3 years now and have found that it's important to put quite a few layers of color down and then burnish them to get a smooth texture. When you do that it takes the sketchiness quality out of the picture and adds a real quality look to your work. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the C and C everyone! I appreciate it!
JDMWong: The reflections did get a bit crazy, no?
gbritnell: The 'grainy' look has been haunting me since I've started pencil color rendering. Thanks for the tip on layers of color/burnishing. I'll apply that to my next piece, a non-Ford :), '70 Nova. B

asaenz, that one's awesome! wonder how it'd handle though? seems like it was made with only power in mind. that's a mad drawing, awesome reflections and tires. wish i could draw that well.

I just saw this sorry about that. Have you thought about different paper. It looks kind of grainy (paper). Have you tried Bristol Smooth? PM Alex he may be able to help diagnose your problem. I mostly do fine art w/ graphite on Bristol Smooth; from my studies you want to choose a surface paper based on your subject. So when I draw cars (photo real) I go w/ Bristol smooth because the subject (cars) are mostly metal and smooth.
