I'm new to car modeling. I have made about 4 models, a BMW Z3, Mini Cooper, and Viper RT/10. Right now I'm working on a Revell Corvette Z06.
I was wondering, How do you make body kits, etc?
Thanks.

try a search... i know i've found a bunch of information already on stuff like that. I'm working on making the Fast and Furious supra right now. i made that body kit with tamiya epoxy putty. Others on this forum suggest using plastic stock cut into the basic shape of the body kit and filling the spaces in with putty. Its basically all trial and error. hopefully you'll find enough background information here before you start to minimize the amount of error.

go to your local hobby shop and ask them about it. any decent hobby shop should carry it. there are a hand full of different brands. the only one i've used is tamiya's... also, there are many different types of putty. epoxy putty is better for sculpting stuff. there are contour putties out there and their job is to smooth things out. you cant use the contour putty to sculpt. likewise you cant use epoxy putty to make things smoother. you'll see when you start working with the different types of putty. there are other types of media that people use to build and modify their models. some use plastic, and others even use metal. you're only limited by your imagination, and your budget. hope that clears things up a bit...
