i dont really care how it looks, modern/retro, they tried retro with the new mustang i still think it looks more modern then retro, if they do bring it back theres only 1 thing im asking for, a v8 5 speed

Yes, and there needs to be a V8! I voted for a mix of modern and retro styling.

they should only make one if they fire the designers who did the 99-03. i have a 99 and its nothing but problems. lets see it has 100K on it and i changed the alternator 4 times, front brakes 4 times, intake manifolds, fuel runners cam shaft sensors, raditor and suspension bushings. that is what i can think of off the top of my head.

Hell yeah Ford should make a new cougar with a twin turbocharged engine and all wheel drive and with a 6-speed manual transmission !
If any of y'all agree with me hit me back.:banghead:

nothing but problems? i didnt like no ford products until i got my 99 cougar. i bought it with over 200k miles on it. i bought the damn thing off a good buddy for $200. i replace the tires, and plugs and wires, and mafs and it still is going strong, and i drive that thing hard too. i agree with the 6spd, and a supercharged v8 option, with a 3.2l v6 turbo standard.

a new cougar is great as long as ford releases something with better quality than that last pile they sold us.

I just have to mention my cougar is not a pile and I beat the crap out of the poor thing. Very few problems and 75,000 miles on it so far. :knocks on wood:

not all of them were bad - just see a lot of them that are - biggest problem was the bang for the buck new - people bought em that couldn't afford the maint. and they went to **** cause of it

the 99's and 2000's have all the problems, the 01's and 02's are perfectly fine

I had a 99 cougar with no options for about a year then I decided I wanted something with more options so I traded it for an optioned out 01. My cougar has had very few problems. The only major problem was covered by the fuel pump recall.
Have you been to newcougar.org yet?

I like the newer body style of the 01. They're not much different between the two but I like it! I wish that I couldn't find a newer cougar but the same silver that I have now to make the new 18s I just put on it match. They look sick!
As for the website I haven't been there...I'll have to check it out.:)

Absolutely! As long as they are nothing like the cougar cubs of early 2000.

Hater.... J/k I think the cougar should come back as a nice v8 powered rear wheel drive car but with a more modern look. Not just a new mustang with a few tweeks to the sheetmetal.

Oh yes I believe its needed. shoot lets think about this in 1967 when it first came out it won so many ridiculous awards and car magazine covers it was just crazy.
And if they brought it back with an actual V-8 and a 5-speed who knows what would happen...
Just a good side note they should have a power package that brings back the old school blower though... or a top mount supercharger. Just my opinion.
