I lost my break lights, turn signals and emergency flashers, the other day. Figuring the flasher unit was bad, i took it to the dealer for repairs (i was in a hurry). $260 and an hour and a half later, i was on the road again. They replaced the Dimmer Lever for $220 then they told me the Flasher Unit was also bad and it would be an additional $40. I kept the old parts, i suspect the flasher is bad. How do i confirm the Dimmer Lever is good, or not, and what can i do about it if it is still ok? Can the Dimmer lever cause this problem? i don't have a wiring diagram and am too cheep to buy one. can any one on this form give me advice. thanks Jimmie

If you're really "cheap", you'll buy the electric diagram.
If you're "really, really, cheap" (like me) you'll buy the electric diagram and the shop manual.
(Sorry, I don't have anything for your model year. But would expect the control unit to be more the problem than just the flasher relay.)

Find someone with another Ranger and ask them if you can put your Multifunction switch on it to see what happens ;)
Now that's cheap!
