Hello, i never thought i would be posting in the Corvair forums but here goes nothing.
My buddy's Aunt recently purchased a 1964 Corvair. Its in real nice shape and for $1800 bucks it seems she got a real nice deal. No real problems to speak of except, i am trying to find a Fuel sending unit for the vehicle to solve the gas guage issues we are currently experencing.
Does anyone know where i may be able to track one down. I have tried eBay and searched via google bit i cannot find a solid lead from eiither. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Supposedly, the Corvair sending units were the same from '61 through '69. That may help your search.

I live in Flint, MI and there is a guy in town here that has a Corvair junkyard with about 50-60+ cars in it. His name is Norm King, and his business number is (810) 238-4121.

If you still have not found that sending unit, Clarks corvair in Mass.,Corvair Underground in Oregon and California Corvair in Calif. Sells new sending units as well as used ones. When I purchased my corvair, the sending unit was not working. I pulled the tank and had it cleaned. While I had the tank out,I cleaned the wire wound resistor on the sending unit with electrical contact cleaner and a brush. BE VERY CAREFUL not to go against the wires but with the direction of the wires. Mine has been working ever since. Be sure to hook it up and groung it to a good body ground and ops check it before reinstalling in the tank or you might be like this:banghead: . Hope this helps
