The ACO rules favor diesels in LMP1, but I've heard the Audi R10 and thought it sounded boring at an ALMS race.

Ulrich Baretzky is the head of engine technology at Audi Sport. The following is from the April, 2006 issue of Car & Driver:

"Baretzky wasn't forthcoming about precise dimensions or mass. But he did suggest that the diesel V-12 would weigh about 50 percent more than the 385-pound R8 V-8. If so, the diesel should weigh about 580 pounds."

The Audi R10 project costs Audi €70 Million per year according to the April, 2006 issue of Sport Auto (German car magazine).

On 8-21-2006, that equated to $89,856,196.77 USD.

Well, they are back for the full season, and so is Team Corvette in GT1, both with no competition to speak of.

Not so fast, the Peugeout 908 diesel LMP1.

I rwalize that I am chiming in a little late on this , but did I read it right when Emery said it sounded boring? Is that why he was banned? It should be. The car was amazing! When it goes by, all you hear is the air around it and the tires. I am so sorry that I won't be at Sebring this year.
On the other hand, I also heard rumors last year that Audi was considering pulling out of ALMS, but still racing at LeMans. Maybe they would have raced in the European series?

I really am going to try to go this year to the 12 hours of Sebring. Never been there either.

PEUGEOT. The full season refers to the ALMS. No Peugeot 908 will race in the ALMS. Therefore, no competition to speak of - because the Highcroft Lola and the Creation Zytek are "no competition to speak of".

Last year we parked right on the fence at turn 4. It looks like those are reserved parking spots now. I however would try to get to camp by turn 7. That way you are near the bridge and turn 7 has some good views and some action. Try to party with the busses between turns 12 &13. They aare always having a good time and they have an awesome view on their tower.
You'll see what I mean if you go.
