I never thought I would be writing this thread but whatever.

I am about to start my senior year of High School and I am having a dillema between what classes I should keep or change. Lets see, so far my GPA is around 3.30 out of 4, which is unweighted(i have AP and Honor classes).

My schedule for this year is
English 12 AP
Gov/Econ
Ap Statistics
Arch Design
Physics Honors
Digital Photo 2

I am going to change Arch design for Precalculus(i got a C, and a D in Honor Precal last yr), and I am not sure if I should change English 12 ap for just a normal english class. Would that really matter for colleges and stuff? Its senior year anyway? I am not sure what I want to do or what college to go to, but I would want to keep my options open, but I will proly go to a community college and then transfer. What should I dooo?

I live in CALI btw.

I am not sure about your high school schedule. But definitely get a good bulk of your core credits done at community college. Also make sure those credits will transfer to the college of your choice.

Well, alot of it depends on what your college major will be, if you have allready decided. My advice is not to do too much more than what you have too.

I am in college right now for engineering, so my school probably didn't give a rats ass about me taking, regular old college prep engligh my seinor year, and at the same time I got AP credit for Clac I and Physics I, which REALLY helped.

I think at this point, you would have already applied to your colleges of choice so they won't see your transcripts for your senior year anyway. So it really doesn't help you any (in terms of fluffing up your GPA) if you took advanced courses vs the regular courses. If it was me, I would take fun courses so that I would be able to enjoy my senior year.

I would not use those AP classes in highschool to wiave the pre-requisite classes in college as it does not appear that you have fully grasped the topics (I'm using your grades for the calculus class to base this assumption on. If that is not the case, I apologize). If that is your feeling as well, then it makes no sense to take the AP courses during your senior year as you'll have to take the same classes again at your college. Bottom line- don't waste your time if you'll end up having to take the courses again anyway. Enjoy your senior year.

well it really depends on what you want to do in college. i think it would probably be better to do regular english rather than ap if you're going to do really well in regular. if you can do just fine (as in B or higher) in ap, then stay in that. it would really help if you told us what program you want to take though.

BTW Stieh, what stream of engineering are you in? i'm going into my first year of electrical engineering (although first year is a common year for all engineers at my university so i've got the exact same schedule as a friend of mine who's in aerospace engineering) but i want to change to mechanical engineering. long story short, i applied to aerospace because i didn't really want to go to this one (but now i'm really psyched about going to this one instead of the university that i originally wanted), they put me into electrical, i applied for a switch to mech (which is where i really wanted to be in the first place) but it was full.
