Hi, I recently decided to change the spark plugs of my 1997 Geo Prizm 1.6L. I noticed that the spark plug gap setting was given as 0.031 in the haynes manual. But in all automobile shops, I noticed that they specify 0.042. I am a bit confused as to which is the correct setting. I currently have 2 sparkplugs set at 0.042 and other two at 0.032.
Is it an error in the manual or is it an error in the other database.

I dont own one to be certain. however I do own 2 japanese cars of similar years...

In this case, if I had to assume someone was wrong.... Id assume billy bob at that auto parts store doesnt know.
