steering problem

hey
I been having a problem with my steering, when i have it idling, then steer the wheel it makes this squiking noise and kind of a grinding noise,:frown: does anybody have a clue of what that means, i'm thinking it has somting to do with the axcel or somthing. if you could help me it would be greatly appreciated thanx!

Welcome to the forum. For future reference, it's usually recommended that you post the year of your Taurus and which engine it has when posting a question.
I'll start off by asking what year your Taurus is. I suspect though that the noise you are experiencing is a dry ball joint or outer tie rod end in the front, especially if your Taurus is a 1995 or older. Have the front steering and suspension inspected. If the noise is not coming from the area of the wheel, then it may be dry bearings in the strut plate.
