engine problem

when i drive my car for a while it sounds fine bu when i sit in traffic for a while the rpms go from about 900 to anywhere from 1100-1700 my temp gauge doesnt move up and it also makes a rattling noise kind of when this happens the car is a 91 turbo talon also when the car is cold it revs at 2000 and it jumps from 1800 to 2200 i heard that could be the ecu thanks for the help if u can

Check your ISC or IAC, chances are they have gone bad

Also, use the subforums. This would go perfectly in "Problem Diagnosis".

how would i check them and are they expensive to replace
