Strong smell

I did some searching but couldnt really find anything.....
My blazer runs smoothly, no check engine lights, absolutely nothing wrong with it, had a recent tune up, and mpg is 15.6 (thats normal right?). The only bad thing is there is a horrible smell coming from the exhaust. It doesnt smell like rotten eggs (plus ive had the catalytic converter checked recently). It just smells like extremely strong exhaust fumes. Its strong enough that some people complain when they have to follow me.
Is this just the nature of the beast or what????

What year?
What did your tuneup include?
15.6MPG is actually low for that truck.

Well, that is still a little low.
New O2 sensor for sure is in order plus and a new PCV valve.
Also get your timing set to base zero again with a timing light and the timing cord unattached from the computer. It is the brown and black cord with a clip under the passenger floor carpet running to the PCM.
Air Filter
Fuel Filter
New fluids in the front and rear diff along with new fluid in the transfer case. Also keep your tires at 34-36psi COLD. Should be this pressure in the morning dead cold, not after driving around.

Is cheapo the way to go on o2 sensors or will I most likely regret it later?
Any brand recommendations for the fluids? (ill most likely go synthetic)

Bosch O2 sensors are completely fine seeing Bosch is the company that designed GM's O2 sensor system.
For the diff fluids, I wouldn't go synthetic seeing you are just asking for trouble as I was a couple months ago. Swapped in new synthetic 75w90 and had both pinion seals start to leak.
