'70 Foose Challenger

what's up everybody? :D

This is the 1970 Challenger built on an episode of Overhaulin' a couple years ago. I finally got a hold of some high res pics on seriouswheels.com and decided that I had to draw it. Most of the reflections have been improvised and there was alot of freehand rendering involved.

The ref:

http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/7739/23333041tr9.jpg

There are a few differences between the overhaulin' car and the ref pic that I used... the paint scheme is a little different, the front bumper is chrome instead of black, the gas cap is different, the seats are different...

Okay, enough talking.. I'd love to hear your opinions. I'm always open to suggestions and critisism!

Thanks for looking

Alex

Good stuff man, hoping I can work up my realism on cars to look like that.

Trash as usual... ;)

Fantastic stuff. Top notch as always. It's great how you took one angle with one color and used the other angle with the other color.

This really is one of my favorites of your renderings. Besides it looks awesome as always, I love the cars design and the angle it's displayed at. Muscle cars are so rare in Europe. I see a Mustang less often than a Ferrari. If I had the money, this would be the drawing I'd buy.

Great work Alex. Super rendering skills as usual. If I could offer one little nit it's that the axis centerline of the front wheel seems to be tilted inward just a bit. It's possible it could be in the photo that you took. I wish I had more time to devote to my car art but there's just too many other things to do.

That is truely excelent. That's one of my favorite Foose cars too. They did a REALLY nice job on that car, and you did a REALLY nice job drawing and rendering it.

Beautiful! Your realism rocks. There's nothing that screams power like a good american muscle car! I would like to see a 69 Mach 1 come out of your Art Shop sometime... Once again very, very nice!

Looks very, very good Alex. I like the freehand reflections in the black, very close to real. Creepy almost. Alex must be that robot from- Oh nevermind, it's already been said.

And good 'ole Mike with his fake 250,000 posts, haven't seen you around much :D

Thanks guys. This is all prismacolor pencil with white gouache. I used only a bit of marker and black pen in a few spots, but it's so subtle that it's not even noticable on the actual drawing.

George: thanks for pointing that out. The placement of the highlights is what's causing the ellipse angle to be off.

Are you F)#@ing kidding me???? Alex you've got a bright future ahead of you bud. Do yourself a favor if you haven't done so already....
Take AP (advanced placement) art courses in High School, build a strong portfolio (of more than just cars) get yourself into a great industrial design program in college (RISD, Syracuse, etc) graduate and get your butt in Art Center as fast as possible. Go here to research schools and firms: www.core77.com.

You're stuff at 15 is better than mine was at the time. Hell, better than it was while in college. I'll try to post something from when I was that age to prove it.
