You guys wouldn't believe how much Shepherd keeps stock on the car. Yeah the interior is gutted but it just looks like a gutted 1g. The only giveaways are the hole in the front for his turbo and his parachute on the back. Other than that it looks like a stock car... Then ya pop the hood and its a whole different story. I got to look over his car a good bit when I went over to his place to pick up my tranny.. Its damn impressive.

Anybody happen to know how much nitrous he is running now?

7.8 at 185? That sounds like a really low trap for that kinda ET. I thought that would have been like a 8.5ish ET. Does the AWD at that level really make a difference? IIRC the RWD cars on nopi tunervision when I watch it were running mid high 7s at between 197-202.

I know him. Stayed with him, Adam from Devotuning.com, and the boys from AMS at the shootout last year. He invited me along this year but I had shit going on. Really cool guy.

His car is very impressive. Looks stock but the car has a tubular rear end and a tubular front 1/2 engine bay. Now its understandable on how he only weighs 2150lbs. :D

Rau is also a full front and rear tube chassis. The body part left on the car mitsu is from the firewall to the back seat. That and the powerglide, RWD setup is nice.

I'm assuming you mean Shepherd?... He lives about 35 minutes from my house. I've been over there a few times. lol

Shep is a cool guy. I wouldn't say I know him, but there was a time when he would remember me for my bizarre breakages. He busted my balls pretty good when I snapped the input clean off one of his trannies in like 2k miles :D Very cool, down to earth guy.

There are a ton of videos of his car on his site. I believe the new URL is sheptrans.com, or are the videos still at shepracing.com? At any rate, check them out. The in car vids are awesome, as well as the ones taken from behind the car on the launch.

I saw him run the 7.95 at the SO, truly awesome experience to see that in person. I've seen the fast cars at NOPI and such, but this is different for some reason. It just doesn't look the same. Something to do with the AWD launch or something perhaps. The RWDs pull similar or better 60 foots, but look completely different coming out of the hole. See Rau carry the front wheels to the 330' mark is cool though of course :)

No he is not running nitrous, he has the set up i guess but it says on his website all his runs have been done with no nitrous

*EDIT* He has ran a 7.81 since but maybe thats on nitrous, it does not say like the other runs.

Well, he used to run nitrous... Aparently his new setup is better this season than it was last... I seen his fuel rail up close, it has been drilled out for the nitrous/alcohol injectors on the underside. It was done up really nice I thought.

Yes, he has a 100 shot direct port setup. As far as I know, he hasnt used it yet with his new head. Since he changed cylinder heads and lightened up the car he wasnt going to use the nitrous until he broke his old time (7.96) on just boost alone which he did at the shootout. I havent talked to him since after the shootout so I'm not possitive if he has used it yet or not.

Ahh, yeah thats definetly some impressive times for no nitrous yet. I can't wait to see what he runs next season. :)

I can't believe he's running 55 psi, that's insane.

I would like to be close to 50psi by next spring. This winter the Talon is going under the knife and getting 10.5:1 compression pistons and a lot bigger rods.
