I am looking at several low-priced 6X8 speakers for my van. Anyone have an opinion on either of these?

6X8's are not going to be great quality from either company .....

Well, that's the stock speaker size, and I don't want to go down to a 5 1/4" with adapter plate because I'll lose a fair amount of bass response with the smaller speaker. I think the Blaupunkts are actually 5X7 with an adapter. That's what most of the "6X8" aftermarket speakers are....
Another unrelated question-the van has six speakers stock. 2 in the front doors, 2 in the side door and 2 in the rear door. How is that wired to a standard 4 channel HU?

I don't know how they have them wired, check with the fader .... turn it all the way to the front and see which speakers play, then turn it all the way to the back and see. As for speaker size .... you can't slide a 6 1/2 into those slots ?

the old opti-drive were good .... look on the newbie post, there is an equipment post in there. It rates various manufacturers.

Either brand is junk, and thats alot of the opinions i hear. Pioneer has a 6x8 that is 10 times better than anything lanzar or blaupunkt make. You can fit a 5.25/5.5 in the hole, i know that 6x8's have the mounting in a different place than a 6x9.
