i finally got my car back this morning!:grinyes: it has been in the shop for 3 weeks getting a new motor. the shaking is gone now. the only thing i wanna change is get a 3.4 inch pulley. so far i have headers, cold air intake, and reprogrammed pcm, is that enough to support a 3.4 inch pulley? thanks much!!

Congratulations. It is overkill for a 3.4" SC pulley but should work fine.
BTW - Try hard not to blow your engine this time around. Good luck!

ok cool, thanks, i alos found out that the previous owner got rid of the u-bend and put on a HELLACIOUSLY big down pipe coming off the headers, its gotta be at least 3 inches or more. and i will do my best not to blow this one, becasue the next one wont be free. so do u think i could go to a smaller pulley and be ok, just remember this is my daily driver for at least the next 5 years.

Thats common to have at least a 3" downpipe coming off the headers to the input of the CAT convertor. The 3.4" SC pulley is a great street pulley. Good compromise bewteen performance and maintaining fuel economy. Don't forget about your PCM that is programmed for Stage III mods. Keep WOT max rpms to no more than 6000. Also, use colder spark plugs such as Autolite Copper Core 605 or 104 with the 3.4 pulley.
My daily driver is a stock L67 '01 Regal GS so I know what you mean and nowadays my GTP is dragstrip and show only. Good luck.

Good luck on finding someone that will trade but you never know. Problem is the other person would have to have your year model GTP. The other problem is the PCM has make, model data and VIN so ultimately the replacement one would need to be re-programmed. If that is not done then the next time it is taken it for service at a GM dealer the Tech II diagnostics machine will go ape. Also, a crank variation learn (case learn) may need to be done......needless to say at the dealer.
I would just take it easy with the old one and save up some money.
You can try posting the will trade PCM at the links below. Good luck.

ok thanks i didnt kno all that. can i take the car to the dealer to have it done, becasue i dont wanna send my pcm somewhere cuz i have nuthin to drive. or can i just buy an already reprogrammed one by giving the correct information. i noticed on www.pfyc.com (http://www.pfyc.com) they sell reprogrammed pcms for $99 will that be a good one to go with? thanks.

Yes the dealer can re-flash your current PCM which will just overwrite the old programming. But they will probably charge for it.
The one at PFYC is a DHP and it is programmed for Stage 1 street so it will be safe. Plus you will give them your VIN and model in advance so that will be programmed so it will be plug n play. A case learn may still be needed but not necessary. The last DHP PCM I had before my Intense had worked like a champ without a case learn.
Also, check out ZZPerformance. Their PCMs are cheaper by $20 but just as good.

I go two ranges colder to be safe so the 104s will work fine.
605 - one range colder
104 - two ranges colder
103 - three ranges colder
Plus the best part of Autolite copper cores other than working fine and the easy numbering system is they are available at Walmart....cheap. Good luck.

for those pcms on zzperformance, they mention something about the performance shift, well mine doesnt have it, so will that make a difference? or will it be ok? thanks.

Pontiac discontinued Performance Shift on 2001 and up models. So unless you want PS there is no problem. It will be OK. The re-programmed PCM provides for installing PS but that is optional. In addition you will need the switch/wiring kit for the shifter.
All PS does is firm up the shifts and changes the shift points for better performance but at a loss of fuel economy.
