I have a 95 Z28 and it wont start. Sounds
like it is out of fuel, but its not. Is the fuel pump
a common problem with this car?
How much fuel pressure is it supposed to
have?

Yes, I believe it is a common problem.

the fuel pump is very common. You should be able to hear it running when the car is turned to on, turn the key on and stick your head by the gas tank... normally its loud enough you can hear it from the cockpit.
If you have to replace the fuel pump, cut a hole out from the trunk to get to it. You will kick yourself if you dont. Dropping the tank is a pain in the ass. I'd have to say dropping the tank is worse than removing the engine.

Before you go replacing it or cutting holes in your car, invest in a pressure guage. PSI s/b anywhere from 40-48psi on a healthy pump with no restriction in the fuel line (ie. clogged filter).

If you hafta replace the pump please don't cut a hole in the car. It's not -that- hard to drop the axle and get the tank out. Get a hayne's manual-it'll epxlain step by step. I did it for my first time awhile back. Grab yourself some PB blaster too, and some sorta cheater bar as most of your rear axle bolts and bolts for the rear suspension have never been removed and need some muscle. Trust me, anybody can drop the tank in this and replace it.

I dropped the tank in my 3rd gen and it wasn't fun, but it wasn't hard either. A garage will charge you around $400 for them to do it. Just letting you know. You might as well do it yourself, it takes a few hours and alot of patience.
btw don't crack the filler neck!
