94 intrepid 3.3 overheating

i have a 1994 with a 3.3 eng. son drove car on highway and the belts broke. i guess it overheated it went to pick him up and the car was overheated. took vehicle home later and put new belt on, car overheated. seen overflow bottle was melted and leaking around the top. replaced it,overheated again. installed new thermostat overheated again. went and replaced the water pump just in case it froze up and broke the belt. overheated again. went to parts yard and bought a radiator because i seen steam coming out of it behind the fans. got one out of a 98 that was still full of fluid. guess what ? overheated. took thermostat out let car run for an hour, no overheat. tried to drive it, got 5-6 blocks and it started to overheat. i've bled and bled. and put in new fluid twice. there is no antifreeze in the oil and there is no antifreeze or sputtering out of the tailpipe. what the hell is going on? this isn't making sense! i need help bad! :banghead:

I have a 97 Intrepid with 3.5 and ran into a similar issue. What I found was the RFI module (located on the fan shroud) was bad, probably from one of the fans overloading the circuit. Since I have not been able to find just this module I replaced the entire fan assembly (rockauto.com). What you want to watch is how the fans start/stop and change speed. When the engine is cold start engine with the A/C on the fans should start out at high speed then drop to low (This is the computer testing the relay circuits). Once the engine heats up to normal range the fans should switch back to high. Both fans should operate if either one (or both) cut out when changing speeds the RFI module is bad. If it still over heats with both fans on high there is another problem elsewhere.
