anti lock system

i have a 96 chevy cavalier. and it has a anti lock system in it. the person i got it from has it hooked up in my fuse box. now if i take that wire out of my fuse box my car will not start at all. Plus on top of all that with the wire in it now my car takes awhile to start up. Can anyone please help me on this. I am new to this. so any help would be great.:) (just wondering if there is anyother way to make my car start faster.)
