Im new to this and I was hoping that I could get some input. I bought my Esacpe in January of 2004. In December 2005 the airbag light came on, then everything went down hill from there. I have always had the scheduled maintenance done on my vehicle. Oil has been changed every 3000 to 4500 miles. The big problem with this vehicle is that when I am at a stop sign and go to accelerate onto the road it sputters, knocks and clanks really bad like its not getting any fuel. I almost have to pull my car off the road then all of a sudden it just gets up and goes. The problem doesnt happen everytime I drive. I take it into the service department everytime the problems occurs. The last time this problem happened was in July of 2006. I was at a stop sign pulling onto the highway and the car completly stalled out on me. It wasn't registering anything on the tach. I pumped the gas peddle trying to get my car off the road because I was right in the middle of the road with traffic coming my way. Finally just like always the car just got up and went like the problem had never happened. I called the service department after I got off of work and talked with the service guy. This was a Saturday and he told me that they couldnt get my car in until Wednesday and that he couldnt guarantee me a loaner vehicle and Ford was not going to pay for a rental from the company down the road, he told me I was 6th on the list and I would just have to wait. This pissed me off because its a safety problem. Everytime I took the car into the shop they "thought" they had fixed the problem. The throttle cable, throttle sensor, throttle body, brain and all the fuel filters have been replaced. The service department wasn't taking me seriously and my step mother knows the owner of the dealership, so she called the owner and my car was in the next day and miraculously they had a loaner there for me. Today is August 24th 2006 and my car has been in the shop for 41 days. A numerous amount of people have driven my car to try to get it to act up on them.. they have the flight recorder in the car (its been in there before when the problem has happened and registered NOTHING, but they keep putting it back in.) I have to keep calling them to get any sort of update on my car. I went in there about 3 weeks ago to get something out of my car and talked to one of the service guys, he told me that they have got it to act up on them once and they wanted it to do it one more time so they can bring in some head mechanic from one of their big offices to take a look at it. I called the dealership last week and talked to the owner trying to get some sort of resolution to the matter. He told me that I could trade my vehicle in but all they would give me is 12,500 dollars for it and I would have to make payments on anything else, because I told him I wouldn't accept anything older than mine or anything with more miles on it. August 22nd I got a call from the owner and he told me that he was going to drive my car home and see if he can get it to act up on him. He called me back yesterday and told me that it didn't act up and that he doesn't know what to do. I told him that his mechanics told me that it had acted up on them, and he told me that they said it hadn't. I got offended because he had just outright called me a liar. He said he was at his wits end and that he was done with it and I need to take it up with the service department from now on. Well, I dont deserve to be called a liar, so this morning I called the Corporate office and took it up with them. The guy I talked to called the dealership and they admitted to him that there was a problem...!!!:banghead: I dont know what to do, and I need a car. We have kids and this is our family vehicle. My car was paid in full the day it was bought. Anyone have any ideas?

PM me your VIN# and I will check a few things for you.
Also, it would be great if someone could hook a fuel pressure guage to the fuel rail and then tape it to the windshield. Do your normal driving and when it starts messing up, monitor the pressure for a drop. This would let you know if you have a pump malfunctioning intermittantly.
