When liftgate is unlocked (with key or power locks) it releases fine on the passenger side. However, it will not unlock on the Driver's side.
Do I have to remove the trim molding on the liftgate to get at something so I can manually release the lock?
Anybody have a clue as to what might be the problem?:banghead:

The solenoid which releases the latch may have a problem, or the latch itself may have a problem. That area is a magnet for dust, so periodic cleaning and lubrication is a must. AFAIK, the only way to releas the latch is from the inside, and it's not easy to remove the trim with the gate closed.

Blue,
Do you have any suggestions or hints as how to remove the trim from the inside?

There is one screw in each of the lower corners of the interior trim of the lift gate. Remove those screws, and the trim covers from the pull handle. There should be a screw in each end of the handle - Remove those. The remainder of the lift gate trim is clipped into place, and should pull off the gate. Once it's off, you should be able to use the holes in the gate to access the latches.
