Just me again, vin #469. Haven't heard from anyone else who has taken delivery.
I've driven over 4 hundred miles in 3 days. That's during a work week.
I'm trying to put about 1K on this monster before I can really start putting it to it's paces. The hardest part is staying off the radar.
Labor Day weekend I'm thinking about driving up to Medford.
Does anyone have any opinions on a good radar detector?
Escort? Valentine?...
I got to tell ya, the sport shift is perfect for me. It does exactly what it shoult do, when I tell it to.
Comon, I know there's 468 of you out there...Joe

Please, more feedback.

Transmission and shifting as smooth as you'd hoped?

Head room, OK?

Interior build, as solid and noise free as we would like?

Driver's seat (not enough distance for you yet) as comfortaable as you wanted?

Anything you'd like to add.....even negative?

what options/color did you get?

if you want the best radar, Valentine one is the best by almost every review ive read and including car and drivers. its $400 but apparently worth it, and nothing for you as you're rolling around in a spanking new Z ;)

#469, Furthermore...
Fit and finish is better than I expected, probably because I read some negative reviews.
Head room is good, a friend, who is about 6-4, said he was comfortable.
I'm 5-9, and I'm really comfortable. Although I'd like a little more lumbar support.
My tranny is auto, it works great, no matter how you drive it. I mostly just leave it in drive, but in hills, the manual mode is great. Just pick a gear and there it stays. With this kind of torque the 5 speed is good enough for me.
I've pretty much got all the gizmos figured out, audio, tricky wiper system.
Oh, one thing I was surprised about. The antenna is a fixed flexable rubber type. I was expecting a retractable one, as shown in the pictures I've seen.
Rignt now It's getting a beauty treatment, sealer, detail, etc.
Still haven't seen another one on the road.
Later...Joe

Minor point.

Are the seats (if leather) a different color than the rest of the trim as shown in photos?

Anything, else?

Cannot wait to see one of these cars.

I am picking up my Z tonight in Seattle. I ordered mine in February. Anyone else have theirs yet in the area?

I just got a 2005 Z Roadster. It's my eight convertible over the years. I can best describe it as a luxury Miata on steroids! What a car. There are two disappoints however. There is very little lumbar support on either seat.(I have the enthusiast model without leather seats. Only options extra are splash guards, floor mats, truck mat and netting.) I simply unzipped the zipper on the rear of the outboard side of the driver's seat and lo and behold. There is a perfectly placed metal support bar right at the correct height for a lumbar support. I bought ($4.00) a dense piece of foam from a hobby shop that was already about 5"X5" X10" and, careful not to even touch a nearby coated electric wire, simply "squeezed" the foam between the rear of the seatback and the metal bar. Lo and behold, I now have a wonderful lumbar support that's built in. The second problem- my Z has an unpredictable habbit of dying when I don't give it enough gas in first gear. My research shows there is a "hole" at certain RPMs that cause the car to stall. Preliminary research says I can correct this by adding certain grounding at a cost of about $40. I want to talk to Nissan about this before I do more research.
