Hey All,

I currently own a 2K GMC Jimmy (hence my username) and I've orderd an '07 VUE Redline. Does anyone own an '06 can you tell how it's treated you thus far? Thanks!

I have one. 06 Redline Vue, Laser Blue. Like the car, really like it. It replaced a 94 Camaro that is in excellent condition, and did it well.

The dealership and Saturn Corporate are another story. Customer service is awful. They have had the car for three days this week, and had it last week too, and have done nothing to correct a problem they caused, yet have managed to scratch it twice this time. They also gouged it the day we took delivery. I was told "lot damage is normal." !? We now have (or at least they do) an undependable car directly due to something they did to an otherwise fine car, that is getting more damage at the dealers than it has in 6weeks on So.Cal. freeways at rush hour.

Again, great vehicle, I recommend the car, but pray there is nothing wrong with it if your dealer is anything like ours. I shudder to think how bad we would be treated if it was a factory defect, not something caused by a Saturn employee.

Curious...what was the problem they caused?

My 06 Redline Vue came with only one key. The dealer cut a "copy" from the VIN, and after the first time it was used, the key stopped working. I compared it to the one original, it was a totally different key, I'm surprised it even worked the first time. Within a few weeks the ignition switch stopped working, we only used the original key except for that one time, but the damage had been done.

The ignition lock cylinder was replaced, and one week later it completely froze up. Now the dealer says it is common. "All Vues even brand new intermittently freeze or lock up disallowing any rotation of the key within the lock." But if you fiddle with it will work again.

I know as well as they do, they originally messed it up with the wrong key, and even said they changed the cylinder, but this sure sounds like total B.S.
BTW, it's only after having the car for three days and not doing any work on it that this "conclusion" was reached by the dealer. Pretty lame excuse, especially to someone who has worked for years in the automotive industry.

Other than that we like the car, distrust the dealer and am learning the Corporate part of Saturn doesn't seem to care after a couple calls.
BTW, everyone that I speak to at the dealership keeps telling me that this is only time they have ever had an unsatisfied customer.
Seems strange to say that to me, and still continually fail to correct the problem and actually make it worse.

Here's ours. Back when it was a fully functioning car. Now it sits in my garage with the ignition key frozen in the ignition and useless. Maybe I'll keep the Vista Cruiser after all now.

For those interested in the saga of Saturns atrocious "service" saga that continues despite my best efforts to resolve a dealer caused problem on this vehicle:

Saturn refused to fix it after sitting on it for 3 more days and actually witnessing the problem first hand at the dealership, twice. I brought it home yesterday after they refused to replace the part they said they were waiting for to fix it, (that came in special express and they promptly put it on the shelf in the parts department).
They told me even though Saturn Corporate had rushed it to them to fix the problem, "they don't have to do what Saturn Corporate says". Keep that in mind if you cannot resolve a problem at your dealer. Sadly, Saturn Corporate agreed, even after telling me it would be fixed just one day earlier.

First time I tried to start the car to back it out to clean the mess they left on it, the ignition froze, again, as it has been doing. The car has 1200 miles on it, we've owned it for 6 weeks, (unuseable for one week), and the problem has been there for all but two of those days.

Sorry if this comes across as a highjacking your thread, it was not my intent. But PLEASE do your home work before purchasing a Saturn. They seem like good cars, but if you have a problem you will be stuck with it. And they will waste your time at every opportunity.

the dealer near me lives up to what saturn promises with their customer service.

and about your choice with the fwd vue redline. did you get the 4 banger one or the v6? cause the 4 banger ones suck if you care about accleration
