Insurance and reliabilty

Let me start off by saying like endlessheart I'm selling my dsm hopefully in favor or a srt. I went and test drove one today and I liked what I saw(even though it had a few issues) My parents are consirned about the reliabilty of them. Have any of you had anything go wrong or had a problem with reliabilty? The other thing is I got an insurance quote tonight and its alot, over 3k a year to be exact. Granted I'm only going to be 19 in october but that is alot of money to be paying. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to lower that number at all?

I dont know what the minium deductible for collision is if you have a loan on the car but if I get $1000 deductable insurance is only 160 a month which isnt to bad, about what my talon is actually

insurance= same as a regular neon (so i've been told by people on this forum w/ the car), and the reliability is not bad.

if your paying regular neon insurance, you will be screwed if anything happens to the car!!! i got away with it for several years, but insurance companies are gettign smart
