so does anybody else have a caution sticker in the glove compartment that says QUOTE " this car is equipped with locking type differential. rear wheel will drive if in contact with the ground, even with opposite wheel raised. do not run engine with car on jacks unless transmission is in neutral or park." i just thought they came with track-lock limited slip not lockers. is this just a case of wrong use of words?

Are you sure its a factory sticker. No lockers were an option, just and trac loc limited slip and Ive never heard of one of those having a warning sticker. Maybe the previous owner put a locker in.

i thought it was weird myself. so no one else has this sticker? it looks factory but i guess its not. is there anyway to see if it does have lockers without opening up the diff?

Interesting! The sticker doesnt have a name on it, like Detroit, PowerTrax, Lock-Right, something along thoughs lines. Is it lifted or did the previous owner wheel it?
You could lay some rubber and see if you get one or two skid marks. You could jack the rearend off the ground and see if the wheels spin opposite each other.

no brand. its 100% stock and i bought it from an old guy. so i doubt it was wheeled hard. but if i jack it up and spin one wheel the other should spin opposite?

With the rear end off the ground and transmission in gear (or Park) and the emergency brake off, if you turn one wheel and have limited slip, the other wheel will turn the same direction. If you have an open differential, it will turn the opposite direction.

Just be sure to chock the front wheels and do it on a level surface.
