Sunbird no start

My sons '85 Sunbird stalled. Thought it was the fuel pump since I could not hear the pump running and no fuel was sprayed. Fuel pump now seems to work, but I have no spark from the distributor. Replaced the coil and distributor pickup coil. The ignition module checked out okay, but still no spark. My next step is to replace the distributor. Is there anything else I should look at? The check engine light is on when key turned to start, so I suppose that means the computer is okay.

1st, pull the stored code that tripped the CEL and post here, that will eliminate a lot of guessing.

Use an ohm meter across the two wires coming from the pick-up coil ( just because you replaced it doesn't mean it isn't bad) in the distributor to the module (usually green and white or green and yellow). It should have 500-1500 ohms of resistance. Anything above or below that and it's bad.
You may have a bad ECM or a loose or broken wire, fun to trace in a 22 model-year old car
