Check Engine Code #44

I have a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with 99,000 miles. Recently I have been getting a Check Engine Code. I am getting the 44 code which I was able to find out is "Battery Temperature Voltage". I have checked the fluid in the battery which was low so I filled. I have checked the voltages and have 12.75 without it running and 14.1 while running so don't think there is a voltage issue. I unhooked the battery for about 30 minutes to clear the code. After 3 starts in the driveway, the code came back. Any suggestions as to what this issue is?

Sounds like the battery is fine. Strange. You could check allpar.com which is dedicated to Mopar vehicles and has info on trouble codes and troubleshooting info etc. I wonder if it's just a re-setting to delete the code problem?
