I was in the car.. going around a sharp turn and had a front right blowout, lost control and went across the median.. only thing i remember is seeing a dump truck and holding up my arm and closing my eyes saying, "I'm dead." I woke up and apparently I saw some people trying to help me out, tellin' me I need to get out because my engine is on fire and I had a big tire on top of me.. so I squeezed my skinny self out of the car and walked out spitting up blood and passed out.. woke up in the hospital and got questioned by the cops and i got a ticket for careless driving lol. apparently i hit the dump truck and i ripped open it's fuel tank, my car would have been fine but i guess the semi saw me and either decided: A) I hit the Dump truck B) I run over the little camaro.. so he ran on top of my front end.. barely got out but I spent a day in the hospital and got stitches over my right eye. i feel like crap though, plus i miss the car. Now I have a 2004 Mustang V6... I must have completely lost my mind, I could have just got a slower camaro =P
I think I'm done messing with cars that have been sitting for years with worn out tires. No more racing for me either, I have to make payments.. need to take care of my stuff.
I think my seat snapped, otherwise I would have lost my head.. damn I should have kept the car, I'd have a convertable now ;)

You are one lucky SOB. I am sorry about your car but very happy you were able to walk away. When we throw the dice, its always a 50/50 shot that this could be it. So I am glad you decided to play it smarter. I know I have done some pretty hairy things with cars that I am shocked I walked away from and smartened me up. (only slightly though :icon16: )

HOLY SHIT DUDE! That's some crazy shit. I can't believe you were able to walk away from something like that. Glad you're ok, but looking at the after pics, being in intensive care would be 'ok' because anyone else would have died.
Cops gave you a ticket? That's crap right there. A blow out isn't your fault and they should be happy that they don't have to scrape another teen of the pavement.
Tell us how the mustang works out and when you come back to the darkside.

I'm glad I had T-tops honestly.. the top just crushed right in. It's a frickin' IROC man, they're built to wreck, you think those racecar IROC drivers who drove them couldn't walk out of a car after flipping it five times?
I didn't 'convert' to Ford, just found a good deal on a newer car. I was thinking about putting dual exhaust on my car but maybe I should buy my girlfriend an engagement ring, it's worth it more.. but hell I could just get the exhaust as a christmas or a birthday present from my parents ;)
If anyone tells me Ford sucks when I'm driving I'll just say, "Yes, I know.. but the A/C sure blows cold." ;) Chumpstangs aren't half that bad, it's probably just as quick as my IROC besides the fact it has a governor on it... and yes I'm crazy, I took the car out the othernight and went 112 on the street just to see if it 'really' had a governor, even after that wreck.. I just chuckle because it's hard to remember most of it. I miss my car most of all, I'm definatly getting another IROC whenever I have my own garage.

Ok, you need to settle down there, leadfoot. And don't wuss out on the car and get the engagement ring first. Remember, your car will never yell at you for staying out too late, or get mad because you were admiring the way other car's look, or leave you for riding in another better looking, faster car.

My girl wouldn't do that, she's one of those one of a kind girls I've been waiting my entire life for and that I've known since I was a freshman in high school which was six years ago. She's been by my side through everything and the wreck has her really distraught.. there's more important things to life than cars, ya'know. Who's gonna be there when you're 80 years old, your car or your wife, or your nurse changing your diapers?
#1 Reason why I bought a Mustang: Can't even try to race because it would be a joke ;)
If one of you guys wanna donate another IROC to a guy who's lost his other love, then don't hesitate, I wouldn't mind to have another and try to actually keep it on the road this time. I doubt I'd be able to find one as nice as mine.. I had to drive from my city all the way out to Daytona to get it. It was my damn dream car since I was supposed to have my dads red '89 but he sold it with 45k miles on it.

That right there makes you not only a lucky S.O.B but not a very bright one at that :disappoin
You should have been killed in that accident, due to vehilce neglect and then even with a ticket for wreckless dirivng you're gonna go and 'test' out your governer by doing 112mph on a street. :wtf:
I have very little sympathy at this point, and please, don't get another IROC anytime soon :nono:
Im not saying all this with intent of flaming, but you need to seriously take a look at the situation you were just in and figure out why you are still here, I'm not religious by any means, but obviously it wasn't your time, but yet a lesson was not learned.

You failed to see what else I've been saying where I said it's pointless to race. I can see tearing up a car that you paid 3 grand for, but when you're paying for a car for 72 months it's not worth it. I also said there was more important things in life than cars. I don't see where you get vehicle neglect from with my IROC because I had a blowout.. not my fault I had to fix a bunch of other stuff because it's been sitting I thought the tires would be good.

A) I didn't fail to see that, wise choice. But my point was that doing 112 to see if your governer works on a street isn't all that much better ya know?
B) You made it a point to note that the tires were old from sitting for a while. Tires dry rot, no matter how well they look in appearance and tread, the chemicals in the rubber break down. Then as the vehicle is driven, pressures continue to build on top of the cold inflation PSI from heat build up. There is your blow out.
C) Maybe I came off worng, but I did make point to note, I'm not flaming, and mean no harm or attack what so ever, I'm just trying to say, looking at those pics and reading your story of the events that happened during and thereafter, I would have a whole new appreciation on life, and certainly would not be back out on a street endangering my life once again and those around me. You just bought the car (mustang) right? Who's to say that during it's last inspection some yahoo didn't torque the lugs properly, any idea what happens at 112 when a tire flies off?

I know what you're saying, which is why I was apprehensive to say that and why I stated all the things how 'there are more important things to life than cars' and that 'i should get my girlfriend an engagement ring instead of getting dual exhaust on my new car'. What's the point in tearing up something you love, disrespecting a car is like beating your woman which is entirely wrong. I can respect a woman but I can't respect a car, so maybe I don't deserve to own another IROC, I understand that. I don't remember much about the accident I'm just going by what people tell me, and it didn't help that I got a concussion on a 100 degree day and kept passing out after the accident. I have no memory but I'm sure it will come back in nightmares. I can go around thanking Chevy all I want for making a safe car but if I wasn't spared a few inches I wouldn't be typing this right now. Yes, I should have a new outlook on life.. I guess it just hasn't hit me yet.. I'm more worried about going back to work and continuing. If I'm the dumbass that goes and kills myself, it's my fault but I'm hurting plenty of other people.. there's my new outlook. If I could remember the wreck then maybe I would be prancing around and saying I'm alive, but my first though was, "God, why didn't you just kill me?"
Maybe I have some purpose in life, but I certainly am not going to help anyone by sitting around and doing nothing in my free time. Maybe it will hit me.. maybe it won't.. I just don't know how to act or what to think right now because I haven't been able to get much sleep and I haven't been taking my painkillers.
If you can get me a fifty-dollar an hour job going to schools and talking to students about putting good tires on a car and not driving fast, then do it.. but for now I have responsibilities, I can't just quit my job and sit around and eat Ice Cream every day.

If you look over the cardomain pictures closely, you'll see the interior is beige/light brown, not gray and the wheels could simply have been dirty from brake dust/road grime.
Stunnajosh - you're damn lucky you survived that. Do us ALL a favor and lay off the leadfoot. If it's not yourself you kill doing something stupid like that (I'm talking about the Mustang 100MPH+), it'll be someone else and you'll have to live with that.
