I own a 2000 Chrysler Neon and was wondering what would be some of the best bang for the buck improvements in acceleration I could buy. I am willing to spend a few grand, and I know that obviously most will think it's a stupid idea since it's a puny 2.0L I4, but I like the car. I'm not specifically limiting myself to the idea of a supercharger or any other turbo, any other suggestions are welcomed that would improve performance.
Thanks. :)
Thanks. :)

Try researching into swapping the engine to the SRT 4 turbo engine. if it can be done, that would give u a ton of power. I know they make turbos for the 2.5L engines, but idk about the 2.0.

this may sound a little extreme....but you could buy a turbo kit....? :icon16:
Not sure what question you're trying to answer here. Are you asking for whats better: SC or TC? Are you wondering if Nos would be a better solution? Are you wonder if an all motor solution would be cost effective?
If you like the car, and want more acceleration, then you need to either increase hp and/or reduce the weight. That pretty much sums it up

if you're looking for best bang for buck horsepower, nitrous is easy, cheap, and it'll give you a good boost in power.
now, i much prefer turbocharging or supercharging but since you don't seem to know your stuff (no offense intended but from the question it looks like you don't know that much about cars) they are more expensive and much more difficult to install. anyone can install a nitrous kit (maybe not well but anyone can at least install one). the only problem is that you need to refill your tank. I'm looking into nitrous for my car since i don't plan on keeping the engine after university so i want something that i can easily swap from one engine to another.
another plus is that when off nitrous you won't really lose any gas mileage. the supercharger is always spinning and compressing air, a turbocharger is always a restriction in your exhaust.
anyways before you go to nitrous, you should do some things to ensure that your engine won't kill itself. you should get an engine tune up, make sure your cooling system is in perfect running order, get a compression/leakdown test. after this, install a SMALL shot of nitrous, a 35 shot will provide you with a good boost in acceleration to show your friends and won't risk your engine too much.
