Anybody have any tips on how to maximize my MPG? I have a '97 4.3L. I would appreciate any suggestions on aftermarket parts and adujstments and such that would make sure i'm going as far as possible on a tank of gas with this thing. Thanks

other than the obvious tune up stuff- like a K&N air filter (I got one four years ago, love it).
Run tire pressure at max rating on sidewall. Use cruise control where possible.
I use my control where ever I can run 40MPH or more without stop and go.
Highway, I get 22mpg if I go 55mph vs. 18 mpg @ 70mph
At higher speeds, keep windows closed and run AC or vent- dont carry more crap than you need when running around- you'll be limited always as youre shoving a big square faced box thru the air-
Narrower tires?
And finally why doesnt someone make a cool air intake like those ones I see for just about every make of ride out there?

Proper alignment helps mileage. Synthetic fluids in the transfer case and both drive axles (on AWDs) can allow better mileage. Of course, synthetic in the crankcase helps, too.
