is chevy 250 tranny interchangeable with 350

i got a 250 transmission in a 76 nova on a 305 engine what is this transmission interchangeable with? i wanted to get a cheap rebuilt 250 transmission off ebay but they dont have any they only have 350s can i use a 350 and are there diff kinds of 350s that will and wont fit? please help
