Is there something more to this problem than what the seller says?

Hello, a friend of mine knows a guy who is selling a 98 eclipse automatic, he says that the engine needs a head gasket only, but he also says this has caused overheating problems and water to be leaking into the engine. is this an easy fix or do you think theres something more and thats why its overheating? the reason i ask is because i've had cars that have bad head gaskets, but usually they just spill oil and thats it, but im not sure if the eclipse is any different, help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Head gaskets can blow in many ways...
Usually oil in coolant and coolant and oil
lower compression
over heating
It all depends on how badly its blown and where.

also the head and even the block may have been warped...which means machinist bills, and an overall higher repair cost.
Furthermore, another sympton of a blown headgasket is white smoke coming out the muffler.
