1995 Bon - Radiator fan delayed operation

The cooling fan on the radiator takes too long to turn On even when the engine temp reaches 240 Deg. I realize it could be the temp sensor underneath the thermostat housing. The setting for this sensor is off by design, ie, fan always comes On late even if I replace it.
I would like to install a switch where I can switch the fans ON anytine I want, hopefully I will not forget to do so when required, but I would like to have control, as the present control causes the car to run hot. There are three wires to the sensor, does anyone know what wires I can jumper, so I may run a switch to the compt. Has anyone done it. Or what can be a possible fix for the high temp operation on this engine. 3.8 SSE standard.

Mine did the same when I set a few minutes at idle. I had it in the dealer for service and ask about it and was told it was a faulty gauge. That was about a year ago. I recently replaced the thermostat and now my gauge only goes as far as 220. Try replacing it.
