Multiplay CD not working

We've had a 2002 Silhouette Premier for a couple of months and are happy with it (apart from the driver's heated seat not working, lol). We've recently started having problems with the 6 CD player, though. The player doesn't always recognize that there's discs in there so won't eject or play. The CD/AUX button only switches to AUX if the DVD player is on. After constantly removing & replacing blade fuse 29 under the hood, the CD will sometimes work, but shows all 6 CD bays as full even if only one disc is in, and switching back to radio stops the CD from working again. Other than that, everything else on the 'entertainment center' works as it should. There's no error codes or messages showing. Any suggestions, please?
