Transmission Fluid Izuzu 5 speed

Hello,
Would anybody happen to know what type of fluid I would use for a 86 Fiero with the 5 speed manual Izuzu and also where does it go? Ive been advised to use 5w30 oil but Id rather get some opinions before going and doing that. Also I cant seem to find where it goes. I have an idea of where but Im not sure. Any help with this would be great. Thanks a lot.

The isuzu trans in my grand am uses synthetic blend from gm, its much much heavier than 5w30. Check with the dealer, see what they recommend, then hit the parts stores and find the equivilant. Just my :2cents:.

My factory manual says SAE 30 motor oil. There's a dipstick down on top of the trans, towards the driver's side.

If Im not mistaken the 5 speed Muncie has the dipstick. I dont believe the Izuzu which is mine has the dipstick. Ive heard something about a sensor being removed in the Izuzu to fill fluid but I dont know. As far as I do know I havent been able to find any dipstick anywhere near the transmission. I see two sensor type plugs. one to the left near the wheel well and one closer towards the trunk firewall. I dont want to start pulling things off though unless Im sure. Anymore help would be great. Ok I think I found where it goes but I would love to know how to get it off. I found out that the VSS Vehicle Speed Sensor on the transmission is where to check the level and refill. Well I have no idea on how to get it off. It just keeps turning. I dont know how else to get it off. if anybody knows about the VSS please let me know. thanks. 5 speed Izuzu 86 Fiero 2M4
