The instrument panel gauges do not work when starting car and air conditioner defaults to "heat". Occasionally, after about ten minutes they will suddenly come on and air conditioner will again work. If the car is turned off and restarted right away they almost always come back on, it is strange however if you wait twenty minutes or so and start the car, the gauges will go back to not working and I have the blowing heat again.
The car runs fine. I had a friend show me where the fuse is so that when the gauges aren't working I can pull the fuse and not have the hot air blowing, but then when all decides to work I have to pull over and pop the fuse back in.
As a female I just want to do my research before blindly taking it in to a mechanic. Is this common to Concorde's and do you have a suggestion of a place to begin checking for the problem? All the fuses are good. Thanks to all for any info you may have. It's been a long HOT summer. Thx. Mary
