Can someone please clear up somequestions for me. First thanx for any help you can give me. My friend has a d16z6 that he got from a junkyard with no distrib. He put his old d16z6 distrib on it and it ran for 45 mins and just shut off, but no check engine codes. Is this motor still good it turns over but no start. can i just use my SI intake and distrib, and it work with my si tranny? which plug wires would i use for it? Also the mechanic that looker at it for him told him it couldbe a electrical problem. Please give me some idea's because he only wants 300 dallors for the motor. I already know about wiring the vtec I am asking would it work in mine. thanx for any help i advance

try the cap and rotor first, could be the igniter or even the distributor itself. Yes you can use your si intake, yes our si tranny will bolt up. You can use your si distributor with a few modifications..... try this link and go to http://hybrid.honda-perf.org/tech/info.html. once your there go to archive,4g tech that will take you right to the swap........
good luck....gunnmen01

you can use your Si dist., ecu, and intake mani....but you'll need to get an rpm activated switch. or get the p28 ecu (92-95 Si/EX) and the distro. fixes gunnmen suggested.
the fuel mapping and what-not is slightly different when running the d16a6 (4th gen Si) stuff. you actually loose a couple of horses...like 3-ish. to some people that makes all the difference. having to buy a z6 distro & ecu will cost more...to others that is the difference. :)
you use plug wires for whatever distro. you use. either a6 or z6.
your a6 Si tranny will work perfectly.
