I was wondering what the stock gears were for a 2004 3.8L V6 because I saw 3.73's and 4.10's for sale on a website pretty cheap. I'm used to Camaros so I don't know much about Mustangs, any help would be appreciated.

4.10's if its a auto and 3.73's if its a 5 speed, although if you dont do a lot of highway driving you might want to consiter 4.10's in a 5 speed.

Is that what you suggest I get or is that what comes stock with it, because 4.10 is a lot for a 6 cylinder stock. I was trying to see what came in from the factory so I can decide if I even need to start with the gears first, I'm considering getting the Steeda Dual Exhaust as well.
Sorry if I'm a little slow, I'm on medication. I lost control of my IROC and went across the median and ended up getting hit by a dump truck and being driven on top of by a semi... still on painkillers and everything, absolutely no reason why I should be alive right now.

it does not come with 3.73 or 4.10 stock. im pretty sure it comes with 3.27 stock. gears would help a lot.

3.27 is good honestly, that's kind of why the gas mileage isn't as good as what I thought it would be. I had 2.77's on my IROC unfortunatly, this car has probably just as much pep/acceleration but it probably won't top out at 150 though ;)

Yes they come with 3.27's stock, but if you have a auto 4.10's are fine. Thats what 90% of people with V6 auto's get, they sure as hell need it.

People ask me how I got out of mine, but I'm wondering how you got out of yours. My e-mail is ssjflint@bellsouth.net, drop me a line if you want to see more. A city worker should be sending me some more within the next couple days, all I have right now is the picture from the paper.

4.10s no matter what tranny you have, i would be willing to sacrifice 1-3 mpg on the highway for alot more preformance, 4.10s and a detroit true trac
btw, the t-5s 5th gear is .72, and the 4R70Ws 4th gear is .70, and with a 27" tall tire, its about 3k at 80mph

4.10s
if you go 3.73s, especially with an auto, you'll probly be dissapointed.

they dont make 3.55s for the 7.5, they are 3.45s, and my buddy with 4.10s in his 6er got 23, with intake, exhasut, and pullies
i would also recomend a detroit true trac lsd

so you are suggesting the 4.10's for auto and manual? 4.10's can be a little steep for a manual, but if you dont do a lot of highway drivers thats what I would go with.

4th gear in 4R70W = .70
5th gear in t5 = .68
