Hi guys! This is my first post on a modeling forum, so please go easy on me :icon16:. It's the new Subaru Impreza Spec C Type RA by Fujimi. It's pretty much box stock, except replacing the tiny wheels the kit supplied with a set of Aoshima's Works CR Kai. Attaching the chasis to the body was a bit tricky, but I managed to get over it by shortening the attachment pins on the chasis. Overall it was an enjoyable build. Onto to the pictures:

What a great looking kit! You've done a wonderful job on that. Very crisp detailing and finish, again a superb example of the improved standards on this site.
The only thing I don't like are the chrome wheels, far too bling, especially as you have gone for Jap style plates. It would have looked awesome with a set of white advans or even the rims you have sprayed bronze and with lowered suspension.
But still a great looking model

Great looking model! This kit is on it's way to me as I ordered one at HLJ. I hope mine turns out just as nice as yours. Good stuff.

Very nice, very clean build! Welcome to AF, and please share more. Your builds must be stellar, if this is any indication. Other than the wheels, is it box stock? I think you're ready to try to lower the car a bit on your next kit. Your skills are impeccable.

KEEP ATTACKING THE NURBURGRING!!
Frank is right. I should have waited for this kit just for those decals. Not to mention the lip. Drat! :(
Anyway, your build is excellent. The details really pop. Can't want to see more from you... :sunglasse
I would love to see how you altered the pins. This kit got some bad press about its final assembly, so a tip like that could really help everyone out. :)
Where did the license plates come from? They seem... odd.

Very clean and classy, and the wheels are a nice match for it. Welcome to the forums!

Mmm hmm.. That's right Jay. Hehe..Welcome to AF dude!! Great job on the RA spec C! Did your stars emblems suck too? I've had that problem with all the ones I have recieved so far:( It went from silver specs on blue, to just blue:( Lame fujimi!!! Dammit!! Where is Crazy Modler with his knock off PE sets for Subaru kits!!!(I know, I know..but w.e..he needs to make shit for Subies!!!) Yeah!!!>:O
Yea, and +++1 on dechroming the rims, and a lowering. Keep up the great work! Hope to see more from you!

Seems like the wheels should be a little further in the wheel well, but besides that its a clean subie.

Thanks for the comments guys!
Yeah I realized the wheels were too bling after fitting them to the model, but that's already too late (I put the decals on the wheels already:shakehead). Will try to de-chrome for my futue builds.
Ride height: I didn't know the car sits that high, as the pics I saw from other people's WIP showed that the ride height was acceptible. I will definitely try lowering later.
As for the licence plates, they came from the decal sheet supplied with the kit. Originally I intended to use the STI plate decals but I screwed them up during clearcoating. Also, you're right blubaja, the subaru emblem decal really sucks, as it is just a blue oval with one star on it.
Attachment pins:

I cut the length of the pins by 1/3 at the rear, and almost 1/2 at the front. Also there are the "+" structure at the end of the two pins at the front, and I shaved about 0.5mm off those. I tested the attachment of the chasis to the body at the very beginning, which is essential for this kit:rolleyes: .
I'll post more of my builds at a later time.
