Wow... did my first oil change on my 99 chevy ext. Put in 5 quarts and still needed another. Had no idea that it took 6. Are you guys changing every 3k or 5k or when you "change oil" light comes on.

I changed every 3-4K no matter what. I dont trust that oil light. It didnt come on for 9500 miles one time.

Oil is cheap, engines aren't. I change mine every 3-4000 Kilometers as well.

Supposedly the oil life system (not sure if you have that on a 99) is accurate, regardless of how long it says. I've even heard some valid arguments about frequent oil changes affecting our national oil consumption....
Blah blah blah. I do mine every 3-5k mi. :grinyes: Every citizen could change their own oil two extra times a year and not equal the waste of large industry, not to mention freak oil tanker spills. Fix it with big business first. Then I'll give a rat's a$$. :2cents:
