actually you can put in a new cd deck. electronic stores want to tell you that you have to replace you speakers to get you to buy more stuff from them. I bought a Pioneer CD deck and had it installed for free from Circuit city. you will have to buy the wiring harnesses and spacer to fill in the gap since the cd deck is smaller than the stock radio. otherwise don't sweat it. if you want to keep the stock look, I could sell you a CD deck from a '97 J30, but I think it won't fit if you have a '94. good luck to yah! hope this helps and saves you money and trouble.

Well with an aftermarket deck what needs to be done in the installation is to have a piece added that basically deamplifies the signal so as when it reaches ur stock bose speakers it can be reamplified. I got screwed with the whole speaker deal but i did talk to someone who had what i told u done and it dounds great. Otherwise if u do decide to go the other route and get everything changed make sure you do it right and dont cut corners its more money but worth it in the end

yah youll have to get 6" speakers in your door and have a custom bracket made for your new speakers just to obtain the quality of the factory bose speakers. it just gonna be a waste of money unless your speakers dont work at all.
