First off,I'm a noob to the whole FWD thing, but I know my RWD cars pretty well.My mother has a 99 Taurus which I'm doing some work on,and I need to jack it up in the front with my floor jack and put it on jackstands. My RWD 87 Vic has a jacking plate directly under the motor crossmember, but I can't see any jacking plate on the FWD taurus.
Then I considered maybe you have to jack it up with one floor jack on each side of the car,but I only have one floor jack and don't really have the cash to buy another. My question is,Where do I position the floor jack to jack up the front and rear,of the car without damaging anything? Then once I have it up,where is the best place to position the jackstands? Thanks in advance.

There are welds on the panels under the car. The front and back has norches cut out for the little scissors jacks that come with the car. You can use the floor jack somewhere close to the notches and place kjackstands under the panel welds.
