Hi ,
My 86 jetta idles very high. By high i mean 3-4k RPM. I've narrowed down the problem to a valve in the throttle body getting stuck. If i un-stick it, it resolves the issue, but the problem slowly returns and gets worse with time. My quesiton is do i need to replace the whole throttle body to fix this or should a cleaning do. If i need to replace the whole throttle body ... WHERE DO I FIND ONE. I can't seem to find one online anywhere.
Thanks

You won't find a throttle body on line. You can easily find one in a salvage yard. Check your fuel filter and air filter and make sure none of your hoses (in particular the tube going from your breather to your throttle body) are cracked. There shouldn't be any sources that would cause it to clog quickly.
