When researching tires and looking at the spec sheet, I see listed the tire weight. Other than the obvious that there is more material in a heavier tire than a lighter tire.........
What are the pro's and con's of a heavier tire versus a lighter tire?
I am looking to purchase a set of tires that are a few pounds lighter than others of the same dimentions/size.
The load numbers are the same.
input???
Thanks.

Weight has a loose relationship with fuel economy: More weight = more fuel consumption.
Heavier tires generally ride better, but you have to make sure you have tires of similar construction: 2 plies polyester/2 plies steel/2 plies nylon does not equal 1 ply polyester/2 plies steel.
