Need Advice on big decision

I've barely seen anyone on today..or you just really hate my threads. Anyway, I went to a local pontiac dealer today and they located a 2002 formula with a six speed!!! There's some downsides which I'll explain, money...is not the problem. I can pay this off monthly, and with collision, it'll be the same as owning both cars I have now which i'm taking off my insurance soon. It's $23,800 on a gm only auction with no accidents and 20k miles. But with an expensive car like this I need a warranty, which means..no mods. Another downside is the formula hasn't caught my eye that much and it's Pewter, silver. Has leather though.

My other alternatives are to keep looking for a car, like a cheaper used one then I'm seeing right now, a 95 TA with 30k miles for 9.5k (auto). Another alternative is to skip this auction and wait for a TA to pop up, or something red, or black...or red. But in 300 miles there were 4 firebirds on auction and only 2 were V8s and one was a stick.

If you know how GM only auctions work then maybe you could lend me some experienced advice. I have until tomorrow when they close to decide. Auctions never go on during the weekend so they would bid for it monday.

i wouldn't go for it and as for mods i belive if you take them to a gm dealership to get installed they will warranty your car still (not sure though and im sure it doesnt apply to all mods)

You can have mine for $16.5K if you really want it (Can't go any lower, owe too much on loan). It's got a warranty by GMPP till 75K miles, and it has 65K miles on it. Mods are in sig.

Then again I heard some dude's selling a 2000 T/A WS6 with a 408 block, STS Turbo, and all the goodies for $18.5K on LS1tech. It doesn't have a warranty, but it will smoke Luos's car like a cheap cigar from the sounds of it from a buddy.

Just wait til Curtis gets some boost :grinyes: , I would wait as well. Find something you want and feel comfortable buying. If you rush into something just cause its there now, you will regret it in the long run. Just my :2cents: though and good luck.

Hey LS1, tell me more about this GMPP warranty. I see all the stuff you got on yours and you're still under warranty. How does this work?

Easy, I bought the car used with it (It essentially extended a used car's warranty). They dunno what mods I had on the car other then a catback. Besides some GM dealerships are cool with modded cars, so long as they are not ridiculously modded (Mind you my car sounds stock, as the Z06 cam is even more tame then the stock cam ~ higher lobe seperation angle). Short of the gears they'd be hard pressed to know what I have in the car, and even then I can state that I bought the car used with it. Know what I mean?

I encourage you to look around. I will sell my car for the right price, but it's not exactly busted up, so that I need to sell it (In other words i'm not in a hurry, which is why I told you i'd release it for what i'd release it for :D ). Be careful with some of these ridiculously low mileage LS1's btw. I've heard of people somehow turning off the mileage meter.

Oh, and good luck.
