Was wondering if you can buy axel boots that are already split and seal them somehow or do you have to get the whole boot and pull the axel to replace it? Seems I have seen or read about these somewhere before. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah they make split boots, it is a crap shoot on actually getting them to work and last, 1 piece is the best but of course way more work.

Split boots are both a waste of time and money. They are impossible to get to seal properly, and don't hold up. Get a real boot and take the axle out so you can properly inspect and clean the joint. If it's questionable at all, get a reman shaft assembly (retailers sell them for $50-$80 on an exhange basis) and they come with a warranty if they fail again.
