After noticing my gauge was not working I dropped the tank to find the wires going to the fuel sending unit disconnected. What color goes where? 89 Ford Ranger 2.9l 4x4 Supercab, automatic
Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance to all.

I have a diagram for the '90's ... for all engines:
.
PK/BK is the hot side of the pump motor.
BK is the grd side of the pump motor.
.
Y/W is the hot side of the sender.
O is the grd side of the sender.

Can't help you there as there is no connector drawing for that particular connector. (I'm assuming you no longer have the connector that is built onto the chassis harness??? ... just loose individual wires????)
But if you lift the pump/sendor you should be able to trace out from the pump-motor and sendor up to the top terminal. If you get the correct wire-pairs going to the motor and to the sender ... it may not matter about polarity on the sender, and you've got a 50-50 chance on the motor .... but that's just a guess.
