2000 Montero Sport wheel problem

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me.
I have a 2000 Montero Sport. It has 93,000 miles on it. My normal drive is about 2-3 miles to a park and ride. The last several months I notice that after driving longer distances I start smelling something burnt. I checked and it comes from the left rear wheel. The rim get really hot. Much hotter than the other 3 when I touched them.
Do you know what seems to be causing the problem? Is this something easy to fix?
I am not an expert in car repair but I've changed oil and oil filter myself in the past.

Thanks in advance.
