Now a guy I work with says the 318s are a million times better then the new 4.7L. He has an 03 Ram with the 4.7L and he says it is pretty sick and doesn't do so hot on gas mileage.
Speaking of mileage, what are you getting with your new beast?

Just driving it around here (short trips, less then 60 miles round trip), its got a best of 18, and a worst of 16.
I had to go to Atlanta a couple weeks ago for work, and I took it. Where I had to go in Atlanta was 390.4 miles from my driveway. Anyways, it got 20 mpg on the way down, and 21 mpg on the way back (to be precise, it was 19.5 going and 20.7 coming back). And that was driving most of the way at 70 mph.
The trip computer has a thing that calculates mileage, but its an average for all the miles that's on the truck, not just for the particular tank of gas. Right now its on 16.7 mpg. Before my trip to Atlanta, it was on 16.1. When I picked up the truck, it was on like 14.8, and it had made it up to 16.7 before I started pulling my car with it. It had got back down to 15.3, but that was including pulling the racecar. Since I've been broke down, it had made it back to 16.1 and now its at 16.7. It'll probably be back down after Saturday, weather permitting because I'm taking one of my friend's cars to race.
Pulling my car, it gets between 14-15 mpg, and I'd say the car and trailer weigh between 3500-4000 lbs.
So I'm pretty pleased with it. I'll call it 17 mpg here, 20 on a trip. And then 14 or so pulling my car.
I'm gonna post up some new pics of it when all the rain leaves and I can get it cleaned up. I had Flowmasters put on it the other day. 50 series delta flow. It sounds awesome! Not sure if they will help the mileage. When I put Flowmasters on my old truck (70 series big block 2) its mileage went up about .5 mpg I guess. But I think it sounds great. Realy deep exhaust tone.

When I hear Mopar, I think at least pre-1980, anyway..
I love the old Mopars, but there are plenty of new ones that are representing the name well. Look at the whole SRT lineup :iceslolan
